76 entries submitted for Serbia’s Eurovision Selection

Although we are still months away from the next Eurovision Song Contest, many nations have begun the search for the next Eurovision acts, including Serbia. Back in August, the broadcaster RTS opened the submission period for musicians and songwriters to submit their entries.

The initial deadline for songwriters was at the beginning of November, however it was extended to the 15th of November. The entries submitted needed to be in Serbian language and performed by a citizen of Serbia.

It has been revealed that 76 entries have been submitted to the broadcaster, and these entries have been allocated with a code so that the authors of the songs can remain anonymous as the music editors listen to the submitted entries.

The broadcaster will be holding a national selection to choose their Eurovision act for 2019 similar to their process for 2018. It’s not yet revealed when we will find out who will be performing in the national final, nor when the national final will be held but we can expect it early 2019. Stay tuned for more news from Serbia!
